How to delete pages from a PDF
- Drag your PDF into the box above or click it to browse. The tool reads the file in your browser and draws a small preview of each page, so you can see exactly what you are removing.
- Choose the pages to delete. Tick the box on any thumbnail, or type a range into the field, such as 2,5-7, and press "Select range" or Enter. The summary line tells you how many pages will stay and how many will go. Use "Invert selection" when it is easier to pick the pages you want to keep.
- Press "Delete selected pages". A progress bar follows the work, and the tool writes a new PDF containing only the remaining pages.
- Download the result. The new file is named after the original with "pages-deleted" at the end, so the original stays safe and the two are easy to tell apart.
- If something goes wrong, for example the file is protected or damaged, an error message explains what happened and what to try next. You can change your selection at any time and run the tool again without reloading.
When you need to remove pages from a PDF
Almost everyone ends up with a PDF that contains pages they do not want. A scanner might add a blank sheet after every double-sided page. A contract may include a cover page or an appendix that should not go to a third party. A report exported from a spreadsheet can end with several nearly empty pages. A long document may contain pages with personal details that you want to leave out before sharing. Deleting those pages is quicker and cleaner than printing the PDF and scanning it again, and it keeps all text searchable and all images at their original quality.
Some situations are about privacy rather than tidiness. If you are sending a bank statement, a tenancy agreement or a medical report to someone who only needs two pages, removing the rest is a sensible habit. Because this tool never uploads your file, you can do that without handing the sensitive pages to yet another company.
How page ranges work
The range box understands the same notation used by most printing dialogs. Pages are separated by commas, a dash joins the first and last page of a span, and a dash with nothing after it means "to the end". The table shows a few examples for a 10-page document.
| You type | Pages selected |
| 3 | Page 3 only |
| 1,10 | The first and last pages |
| 2,5-7 | Pages 2, 5, 6 and 7 |
| 9- | Pages 9 and 10 |
| -3 | Pages 1, 2 and 3 |
Numbers beyond the last page are ignored, and if a range contains nothing that exists in the document you get a message that tells you how many pages it really has. You can combine typing and ticking: apply a range first, then fine-tune with the checkboxes.
Why use Bilişim Ajans' page deleter?
Most online PDF editors upload your file, ask you to create an account or add a watermark to the result. This tool avoids all of that. The PDF is opened and rewritten inside your browser, nothing is sent over the network, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and images are not re-compressed. It works on phones as well as desktops, and everything can be operated from the keyboard.
Tips before you delete
- Check the thumbnails. Page numbers printed on the page can differ from the position in the file, for example when a document starts with roman-numeral front matter. This tool always counts physical positions, the same numbers shown on the thumbnails.
- Keep the original. Because a new file is created, your original is never changed. Store it until you are sure the new version is what you need.
- Remove blank pages in bulk. Scroll through the previews and tick the empty ones, or type a range if blanks fall at regular intervals.
- Unlock first when needed. A PDF protected with an opening password must be unlocked before its pages can be read.
- Need to reorder as well? After deleting, open the result in the Organize PDF tool to rotate or rearrange the remaining pages, or merge several cleaned files into one.
What happens to the rest of the document
Deleting pages does not rebuild your document from scratch or flatten it into pictures. Each remaining page is copied across with its text, fonts, images and vector drawings intact, in the same order as before. That means you can still search and select text, links inside the remaining pages keep working, and the file size usually drops roughly in proportion to the share of the document you removed. If the result is still too large, run it through the Compress PDF tool afterwards. If you plan to combine the cleaned file with others, the Merge PDF tool will put them together in the order you choose.
Frequently asked questions
How do I delete pages from a PDF?
Open your PDF, tick the thumbnails of the pages you do not want or type a range such as 2,5-7, then press the delete button. A new PDF with the remaining pages is created in your browser and you can download it straight away.
Does deleting pages change the original file?
No. The tool builds a new document from the pages you keep and your original stays untouched. The new file is named after the original with pages-deleted added to the end.
Is the content of the deleted pages really removed?
Yes. Only the pages you keep are copied into the new file, so text and images that appear only on deleted pages are not included. Resources shared between pages, such as a font used throughout, stay because the remaining pages need them.
How do I write a page range?
Separate single pages with commas and use a dash for a span. For example 2,5-7 selects page 2 and pages 5, 6 and 7, and 9- selects page 9 to the end. The matching thumbnails are ticked so you can double check.
Can I delete every page?
No. A PDF must keep at least one page, so the tool asks you to untick the pages you want to keep.
Can it open a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. If the file needs a password to open, the page tells you it looks protected. Remove the password with the Unlock PDF tool first, then come back and delete the pages you do not need.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read and rewritten by JavaScript in your browser. It is never uploaded, stored or tracked, and once the page has loaded it keeps working offline.
Is there a limit on the number of pages or the file size?
There is no fixed limit. Previews of the first 60 pages are drawn at once and the rest as you scroll. Files over 50 MB can be slow because the work uses your device's memory, and the page warns you when that happens.
Will the layout and quality of the remaining pages change?
No. Pages are copied as they are, including text, images and vector graphics, so nothing is re-compressed. Document-level extras such as bookmarks that point to deleted pages may not be carried over.
